Never Enough…Always Enough

Have you ever felt that you were not enough? That no matter how hard you tried, it still wasn’t enough?

Do you remember when you first had those thoughts?

For me, I was very young. Out of the hospital from being sick. And in a very vulnerable state.

And even after everything I did to get rid of that being sick stigma I put on myself, I still felt like it was never enough. Never enough to go through the things that I went through only for things to go sideways.

Isn’t it interesting how hard we can be on ourselves especially when things are going right?

Like you could be living the life the little girl or little boy wanted to live and yet it still doesn’t feel enough. Like there is more you could’ve done, but at the same time you feel utterly stuck on what should be rather than what actually is.

So why do we put ourselves through this?

Even God says we are enough.

Whether you are religious or not, you are enough. Everything that you’ve done to be where you are is enough.

Let’s stop being so hard on ourselves. Let’s embrace the fact that we survived. That there were many times you could’ve stopped trying at any time, but you didn’t because you kept going.

You were always enough. There was just someone close to you that told you you weren’t. Who made you feel small and insignificant because of their jealousy or anger. But you were always enough. You just weren’t enough for them.

So, you lived your life thinking that there was something utterly wrong with you when in reality you were perfect the way you were. Nothing needed to change. Your heart was big and someone took advantage of that.

You are enough.

And if no one else tells you that, well I am here to tell you.

You are always enough. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
